When can orthodontics help you?
This service is for you if you want to improve the alignment of your teeth and bite, both for esthetic and functional reasons. Orthodontics helps correct problems such as crowded or spaced teeth, incorrect bites, and imbalances that can affect chewing comfort and oral health. It is especially useful in adolescents (when growth can still be guided) and also in adults who want a more aligned smile with modern options such as Invisalign.
What you can expect from this service
At Clínica Dra. Morell, orthodontics is approached as a process guided by an appropriate treatment plan and continuous follow-up. From the initial assessment, the goal is to find the option that best suits your case and your daily life: braces when a robust and versatile solution is required, or Invisalign if you are looking for a more discreet alternative. Throughout the treatment, we closely monitor your progress to ensure stable development, and during the final stage we work on retention so that the results are maintained over time.
The most important thing is that you understand the reason behind each step and have realistic expectations regarding treatment duration and results.
FAQ Ortodoncia
How long does the treatment last?
The duration depends on the type of case and the goal of the treatment (aesthetic alignment, bite correction, or both). In general, there are simple cases that can be resolved in a few months and more complex cases that require more time. At the first visit, we carry out a complete assessment and propose a treatment plan with an estimated duration and follow-up schedule. It is also important to keep in mind that consistency (attending check-ups and, in the case of Invisalign, following the recommended daily use) influences the pace of progress.
Will orthodontics hurt me?
It is common to notice discomfort during the first few days after starting treatment and after some adjustments, because the teeth are moving gradually. It is usually not intense pain, but rather sensitivity or pressure that tends to ease after a few days. Our goal is to make the process as comfortable as possible: we explain what you can expect, how to care for your mouth during treatment, and when it is advisable to contact the clinic if you have discomfort that is not the usual kind.
What is the difference between braces and Invisalign?
Both braces and Invisalign have the same goal: to align the teeth and improve the bite. The main difference is the system and the day-to-day experience:
- Braces: they are fixed and work continuously. They are a very versatile and effective option for many types of cases, including complex ones.
- Invisalign: uses transparent, removable aligners. It is a more discreet and comfortable option for many people, but it requires consistent daily use to work properly.
At the first appointment, we assess your case and indicate which option is most suitable according to the type of correction you need, your routine, and your preferences.
